Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

  • Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You generally place a wager (a dollar is the usual amount) to try to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although big jackpots like this are extremely alluring, they’re also incredibly complicated to win. You would need to hit a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, think about this- you wager 20 hands and make the side wager each time. That is $20 you should have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker wager. Picture what you could have been able to win at a wager with better odds utilizing that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the overall casino edge from twopercent with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5.26% in American. The one number wager has just a 1 in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers as a substitute which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you gamble on it, the house advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that isn’t a typo. Because of the large set of numbers you have to pick, it is not recommended to play Keno to often. A couple of times for enjoyment, perhaps. But do not waste all your money on it or you will quickly find yourself beaten.
